Aston martin Roadster review

Aston Martin DB9 Coupe

In 2004, the Aston Martin DB9 Coupe was road tested by the more 'experienced' member of the Top Gear car review programme.

"If you want a VW, buy a Bentley GT Continental, if you want a fast car buy a Ferrari and if you want the 'perfect car', buy the Aston Martin DB9 Coupe!"

There are a couple of points that could be misconstrued as negatives on the DB9 Coupe. Many people complain there is not enough enough room on the backseat for two people and the interior is a bit pub like and confusing. Also, at speed the exterior noises like wind and cars you pass is a bit loud.

Who cares, its an Aston Martin DB9 Coupe!

The rest on this particular Aston Martin is all good. Prodrive, the latest owners of this top marque have really surpassed themselves on the Aston Martin DB9 Coupe.

DB9 Coupe

This particular model from the luxury, prestige sports car maker is powered by a big fat V12 which is capable of churning out 470 BHP. Allegedly, because of the masses of power achieved at low revs, it would also make a really good trailer or caravan puller. If you do happen to see a DB9 Coupe pulling a caravan, trailer or anything, there is nothing wrong in crying! 0 to 60 mph (0 to 100kph) can be reached four tenths of a second under five. Top speed has been timed at 190 (one hundred and ninety) mph (306kph). The six litre (6.0l) engine V12, gleaned from its sister, the Aston Martin Vanquish, has a six speed automatic transmission producing 450BHP at 6000 revs and 420 lbs of torque at 5000 revs.

In the cockpit you are treated to plenty DB9 you are treated to lots of matt wood and aluminum finishes coupled with leather and rich, refined carpeting. There are plenty of knobs and switches around the driver's position, giving a feeling of truly being in an aircraft cockpit, however finding out which button or knob is for what can be a bit confusing. All in all, the 2008 makeover of the Aston Martin DB9 Coupe is a success, not matter how small and fiddly the dash button are.

Aston Martin

Roughly two thirds of all the Aston Martin DB9 Coupe's go on sale in the UK, so resale values all over the world tend to be really good. Depreciation is something not worried about with Aston Martins. A brand new Aston Martin DB9 Coupe is going to cost £133,950 in the UK, around €150,000 in mainland Europe and almost $211,000 in the U.S.A. It is rumoured that Aston are producing 5000 units per year, so the marque keeps its prestige. You won't see that many outside London! **Prices correct August 2008**.
