The only downside is fuel consumption isn't as frugal as other GT's on the market, but what they hey, it's a British marque that has that unique Britishness you want in a British made car. If you want a convertible and price is no option, go for the Aston Martin DB9 Volante.
DB9 Volante
This convertible is powered by the same power plant as the hard top DB9. As with all soft top versions of supercars and luxury prestige motors, a little bit of performance is lost in the transition. This is due to the extra weight needed on the car to stiff the chassis from underneath, as having no solid roof, does make the car slightly less stable. The DB9 Volante is no slouch though. Top speed is said to be 186mph (one hundred and eighty six), which is 299kph (two hundred
and ninety nine). In a convertible! Aston Martin have managed to keep actual power loss to a minimum also. The Aston Martin DB9 Volante hits 60mph (100kph) in 4.9 seconds, 0.3 of a second slower than the coupe. You can also choose between manual transmission and tiptronic. To improve ride stability, the Volante stands roughly an inch taller than the DB9 Coupe.
Aston Martin
Half of the DB9's produced are going to be the Volante model, of which two thirds will stay in the U.K. Aston Martin have priced the 2008 model at around one eighth of a million pounds, which is just short of £125,000.00 It actually weighs in at £122,950 in the U.K., which is just shy of €155,000 on mainland Europe and $227,586. If you can afford it then get the Aston Martin DB9 Volante.
